Description of ASTM-F1533 2009ASTM F1533 - 01(2009)Standard Specification for Deformed Polyethylene (PE) LinerActive Standard ASTM F1533 | Developed by Subcommittee: F17.26 Book of Standards Volume: 08.04 ASTM F1533Abstract This specification covers requirements and test methods for deformed polyethylene (PE) liner for the rehabilitation of gravity flow and nonpressure pipelines. PE material shall conform to the recommended hydrostatic design basis. The process shall involve installing a deformed liner into an existing pipeline then reforming the liner to fit tightly to the bore of the original pipeline. Requirements and test methods that shall conform to this specification include workmanship, dimensions, size, environmental stress crack resistance, tensile strength, tensile elongation, flexural modulus, conditioning, referee testing, quality control testing, marking, and packaging. This abstract is a brief summary of the referenced standard. It is informational only and not an official part of the standard; the full text of the standard itself must be referred to for its use and application. ASTM does not give any warranty express or implied or make any representation that the contents of this abstract are accurate, complete or up to date. 1. Scope 1.1 This specification covers requirements and test methods for materials of deformed PE liner intended for the rehabilitation of gravity flow and nonpressure pipelines. This application is for municipal sewage, storm water, industrial process liquids and effluents, conduit, and ducts. This renewal process involves installing a deformed liner into an existing pipeline, conduit, or duct, then reforming the liner with heat and pressure to fit tightly to the bore of the original pipeline, conduit, or duct. 1.2 The values stated in inch-pound units are to be regarded as standard. The values given in parentheses are mathematical conversions to SI units that are provided for information only and are not considered standard. In referee decisions, inch-pound units shall be used. 1.3 This standard does not purport to address all of the safety concerns, if any, associated with its use. It is the responsibility of the user of this standard to establish appropriate safety and health practices and determine the applicability of regulatory limitations prior to use.
